Tallahassee, FL — Patients seeking surgical treatment for severe obesity and its related conditions have a high-quality option in Tallahassee, FL with a nationally accredited program that meets the highest standards for patient safety and quality of care. Capital Regional is the only accredited program south of Macon, Georgia, and from Pensacola to Jacksonville.
Anthony Wright, MD, F.A.C.S., Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Medical Director at Capital Regional Medical Center announced that Capital Regional Medical Center has been accredited as a Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Center under the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP®.) This is a joint program of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. A bariatric surgical center achieves accreditation following a rigorous review process during which it proves that it can maintain certain physical resources, human resources, and standards of practice. All accredited centers report their outcomes to the MBSAQIP database. The MBSAQIP standards ensure that bariatric surgical patients receive a multidisciplinary program, not just a surgical procedure, which improves patient outcomes and long-term success.
Capital Regional Medical Center is a facility with highly skilled surgeons, nurses, dietitians and support staff who provide a comprehensive and nurturing approach to surgical weight loss. Patients are personally assisted with nutrition, insurance provider guidance, pre-operative preparation, and post-operative care.
“We aim to provide our patients with a program that assists in improving their long-term health and transforms their lives. As I interact with our bariatric patients, I hear stories of being able to reduce or completely eliminate their medicines, being able to play with their children or grandchildren and enjoy their favorite activities again. This is a testament to our commitment to quality care,” said Alan Keesee, President & CEO of Capital Regional Medical Center.
The many treatment options available at Capital Regional Medical Center enable the clinicians to precisely and effectively treat the individual based on clinical need. Surgical procedures include gastric sleeve, gastric band and gastric bypass.
