Capital Regional Medical Center is expanding its network-of-care by opening Capital Regional Medical Care in the Bannerman Crossings Shopping Center.

Healthcare services are needed in northern Tallahassee and the surrounding communities. In fact, more than 50,000 people live within a five-mile-radius of the site.

"We have to ensure that all areas of greater Leon County are served by quality physicians and clinicians, so that people can receive care closer to home," said Mark Robinson, President & CEO of Capital Regional Medical Center.

Brian Allen, MD, who specializes in family medicine, is now seeing patients. His services include routine physical exams, flu and pneumonia vaccinations, preventative care and health education, as well as treatment of chronic illnesses, acute illnesses and minor injuries.

Other offerings at Capital Regional Medical Care will include specialty services such as cardiology, general surgery and vascular surgery. Physicians from the hospital's specialty clinics will be rotating to see patients at this location as well.

Construction on the project began approximately one year ago, and Capital Regional Medical Center has invested $1.4 million into the new facility so that medical services are accessible in all areas of Tallahassee.

"The process of bringing Capital Regional Medical Care to life has been exciting," said Robinson. "However, the greatest outcome is opening the doors and continuing to live true to our mission, which is keeping people well."
