Prepared Childbirth Classes are a 5 class series held at Capital Regional Medical Center. Topics will cover the following:
- The signs of labor
- The normal process of labor and birth
- Techniques for coping with pain
- How your partner can help you during labor
- Pain relief options including breathing and relaxation techniques
- When to call your doctor or midwife
In addition, we cover some of the more common childbirth complications and how to handle them:
- We will show videos of both a vaginal birth and a C-section
- We also teach the basics of breastfeeding and newborn care
- A tour of the birthing facility
