High-Quality Emergency Care Now Available in Gadsden County 24/7
QUINCY, Fla. – Capital Regional Medical Center – Gadsden Memorial Campus celebrated its grand opening today with a press conference and celebration featuring hospital leaders, local legislators and community members who helped make the new facility a reality. The Gadsden Memorial Campus is the first emergency room in the county since 2005.
“The Gadsden County community has been without immediate access to hospital services and emergent care for far too long,” says Bud Wethington, CEO of Capital Regional Medical Center. “Healthcare needs should be able to be met on a local level, quickly, efficiently, and with an emphasis on providing high quality care. Capital Regional Medical Center has stepped up to fill that need for Gadsden County.”
The Capital Regional Medical Center – Gadsden Memorial Campus will offer residents a 24-hour, seven-day a week emergency room with state-of-the-art medical technology, lab services and radiology including x-ray, CT and Ultrasound. Staff from Capital Regional Medical Center offered tours of the facility to a crowd featuring representatives from Agency for Health Care Administration, Florida Department of Health and legislators from each city in Gadsden County, among many more.
“The community could not be more thrilled with the opening of the Gadsden Memorial Campus,” says Eugene Lamb, chair of the Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners. “A high-quality emergency room so close to home ensures that our residents get the urgent care they require, without having to drive to Tallahassee.
The facility will begin accepting patients on Monday, June 14. The 24-hour emergency room will be staffed by experienced emergency room physicians, nurses and lab technicians.
“This is a community facility,” says Craig McMillan, chairman of the Gadsden Hospital, Inc. board of directors. “We would not be celebrating the grand opening of a much-needed rural emergency facility without the support of Gadsden County.”
