Capital Regional Medical Center Ushers in a New Day in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Capital Regional Medical Center celebrated the grand opening of its Comprehensive Breast Center with a press conference and brunch, unveiling the facility to more than 50 Tallahassee women.  Local legislators and business leaders joined to tour the Big Bend’s most all-inclusive breast cancer facility.

“We believe that the women in Tallahassee deserve the most complete and advanced breast care available,” says Marie Johnson, ARNP, Chief Nursing Officer of Capital Regional Medical Center.  “The Comprehensive Breast Center offers the most complete care under one roof.”

Designed with a woman’s needs in mind, the Comprehensive Breast Center features a spa-like interior, experienced team and the most advanced cancer care technology like MammoSite, HDR Brachytherapy and Radiosurgery.  These revolutionary treatments allow a woman to get back to her normal life as quickly as possible with fewer complications.

The Comprehensive Breast Center team includes a Cancer Care Navigator who works with patients from diagnosis through treatment to help them understand their options and provide much-needed support throughout the process.  She will ensure the patient is informed, comfortable and ready for the next step in her treatment.

“All-inclusive breast cancer care is a must in Tallahassee,” says Angela Hardiman-Cole, Senior Vice President of Member Advancement of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce and a speaker at the grand opening event.  “I commend Capital Regional Medical Center on their Comprehensive Breast Center and look forward to all it will offer our community.”

The facility will begin accepting patients on Monday, October 11.  Free mammograms will be offered to a limited number of women through the month to continue the grand opening celebration.  To register, call 1-888-702-2152.
