Wound Care Center

Are you or someone you know suffering from a chronic non-healing woundEach year diabetes, poor circulation and other conditions cause three to five million Americans to have non-healing wounds.  Our team of specialty trained doctors and nurses can help treat wounds that have resisted healing after months or even years of traditional treatment.

That’s what we do.  In fact for most patients, the Wound Treatment Center program at Capital Regional Medical Center leaves wounds completely healed in just a few months.

Visiting the Wound Treatment Center

The Wound Treatment Center is your healthcare partner.  Consistently attending appointments is important to the outcome of your treatment.  We are dedicated to helping you and look forward to your improvement.  Please bring all medications that you are taking.  Remember to include vitamins, aspirin and supplements.  Bring your medical records if available, insurance cards and a list of allergies to your first appointment.  If you have diabetes, bring a snack food and medication with you.  When you arrive, our staff will evaluate your wound, general health, and medical history.  So, please allow a little more time for your first appointment.

A Treatment Program for you

We’ll develop a treatment program based on your particular needs.  This program will include regular visits to the Wound Treatment Center to provide treatment, evaluate progress and make any changes that might be needed.

X-Rays and/or blood work may be needed to assist us in the healing of your wound.  You (or your caregiver) will be given detailed instructions in home care, including dressing changes, nutrition, exercise, and protection of the wound from further injury.

You have a great deal of control over your success

You must keep your appointments, follow directions carefully and watch your progress closely between visits.  We encourage you or your family members to ask questions – our staff is available for you.

How the Wound Treatment Center works with your Primary Care Physician

You will need to keep seeing your doctor for routine medical care.  The Wound Treatment Center works with your personal doctor, just like any other medical specialist.  We’ll discuss your treatment program with your doctor and keep him or her updated on your progress unless instructed otherwise.
